FA research has shown that more than 1.5 million girls under the age of 15 played some form of football over the past 12 months and the aim is to engage those girls in competitive school teams or youth clubs. The FA funds 43 full-time officers to specifically develop opportunities for girls and there is a player pathway to steer talented girls from the beginnings of Mini Soccer at a young age right through to the 51 Centres of Excellence and England teams.
