Milnthorpe United v Wattsfield United At the Lakeland Radio Stadium, Parkside Road, Kendal

Wattsfield United had the opportunity to open the scoring early on the 5th minute from the penalty spot after Milnthorpe’s Tom Jackson had brought down an attacker in the area but Darren Braithwaite shot wide.

He had the opportunity to make amends in similar circumstances but this time Braithwaite converted the penalty kick to make it 1 – 0.

Milnthorpe equalised on 17 minutes when George McCann went round the goalkeeper to score.

On 33 minutes Milnthorpe took the lead through Patrick Sellers.

Wattsfield quickly equalised in the 4th minute of the 2nd half, when Jackson saved a rear post header but Tim Blamire headed home the rebound.

In the 13th minute of the half Milnthorpe’s Brendan Herron was cautioned.

Wattsfield took the lead on 22 minutes through Joe Wharton.

They increased their lead two minutes later when Aaron Holland took the ball around the goalkeeper to score.

Holland scored again in the 27th minute of the half when he headed in a near post corner.

Milnthorpe reduced the deficit with a minute remaining when Wattsfield goalkeeper, Ryan Dodds was unable to keep out Cole Procter’s long range shot.
