Following a successful first year for the Girls Centre of Excellence programme in Cumbria, a bid is currently being considered by the FA for Cumbria to once again run a Centre for the forthcoming season. If accepted, this centre will be one of only 52 in the country and will be based in Penrith. This will be a partnership between the Cumberland and Westmorland County FA’s.
In preparation for the Centre, trials have been organised to select the girls to participate in the programme. The age groups for the Centre of Excellence for the forthcoming season are Under 10’s, Under 12’s, Under 14’s and Under 16’s.
Nomination forms have been distributed to all schools and youth football clubs in Cumbria. In order to attend the trials, girls must be nominated by their school or club and return a registration form. Please ask your teacher or coach for further details.
