Following the successful first year of the Centre, the trials for season 2009/10 will be taking place in June at Penrith.
All selected girls will take part in training and games programme against other Centres of Excellence sides. In 2008/09 Cumbria played against Liverpool FC, Everton FC, Blackburn Rovers FC, Crewe Alexandra FC, Sunderland FC, Manchester FA, and The Isle Of Man FA.
This is an elite programme and the Centres across the country are set up to identify and develop the best players in the area with a view to forming a greater talent pool for the England National teams to select from, at Under 15 and above.
The age groups for the Centre of Excellence for the forthcoming season are Under 10’s, Under 12’s, Under 14’s and Under 16’s.
An information and nomination form for potential players has been sent to all clubs and schools in Cumbria.
