The County Under 18 team entertained neighbouring rivals in the ANC competition on Saturday, in blustery conditions on the 3G pitch at Milnthorpe.
Playing with the wind at their backs in the first half, it was the visitors who took the lead on 15 minutes when Jordan Cowley scored following poor defending.
Westmorland full back Joel Law limped out of the game on 25 minutes after a crunching tackle.
The home side enjoyed the best of possession in the first half, but their only chance to equalise saw Nick Crierie’s shot deflected wide on 30 minutes.
The visitors increased their lead against the run of play just before half-time with a shot by Jack Walker.

Playing with the wind, expectations of the home side were high, but it was Cumberland who increased their lead after defender Charlie Mackenzie failed to clear his lines and Cowley stole the ball and with only the keeper to beat to scored for his second goal of the game. They made it four on 60 minutes when Ryan Hall beat two defenders on the edge of the penalty area and shot home.
Westmorland should have had a consolation goal on 78 minutes but Jordan Crawford shot wide from close range will only the keeper to beat.
Cumberland made if five when Walker scored his seconded on 80 minutes.
The score-line could have been much worse but for another superb performance by Thomas Jackson in the Westmorland goal.
