Found in 1897, Westmorland is one of the smallest County Associations in England. Despite this, Westmorland has contributed a great deal to football in the North of England over the past 100+ years.

A more detailed history of Westmorland is available in a publication, produced in our centenary year (1997).  To view a copy click here.

Westmorland County Football Association aims to establish safe and structured football opportunities for the benefit of all concerned irrespective of age, colour, gender and disability, and is currently working towards the Foundation Level of the Equality Standard, which will develop the framework that will help football clubs recognise and cultivate opportunities within their local community.

We also provide the appropriate structures and systems to enable the association to control, manage, regulate and promote the game within the County.  This enables us to assist with the development of the game at all levels, ensuring we are able to increase the quality and quantity of participation across the various sections of the community.
