Charter Standard

What is the FA Charter Standard and why should my club get involved?

The FA Charter Standard Scheme is a core component of The FA Football Development programme. The scheme establishes minimum standards for football development and acts as a quality assurance mechanism recognising well run and organised junior and adult clubs.

In summary the FA Charter Standard rewards clubs who demonstrate a commitment to raising standards in the following areas:

  • Football For All
  • Coaching and creating Better Players
  • Raising Standards of Player and Spectator behaviour
  • Commitment to the Respect Campaign
  • Administration
  • Child Protection
  • Increasing Participation
  • Supporting development of the volunteer workforce
