Club Affiliation 2017-18 Window Opens

Westmorland County FA Clubs can now Affiliate on the Whole Game System for 2017/18 Season

It is time to get your club affiliated for the 2017/18 season. All clubs are required to affiliate to parent local County FA in order to participate in sanctioned competitions each season. Some changes to the affiliation process have been made during the course of the season which may affect your club.

Personal Accident Insurance

The cover in respect of Adult teams is largely unaltered, with the only change being an extension to the new Concussion benefit so that anyone who suffers a Moderate or Severe concussion (as defined by the Glasgow Coma Scale), will now be eligible for a benefit payment of up to £250.

The Personal Accident Insurance for Youth teams has been amended to reflect the recent decision by The FA to make Personal Accident Insurance mandatory for all formats of Youth football, and the introduction of a minimum cover level.  The Basic cover outlined in the attached summary meets The FA’s minimum requirement, with Bluefin Superior Gold & Superior Platinum offering the additional benefits highlighted in The FA’s directive as highly recommended.  Please note that the Personal Accident Insurance for Youth Teams has been further enhanced to automatically include cover for “Soccer Tots” (i.e. non-competitive football up to U-6), at no extra cost, provided of course that a club purchases Personal Accident Insurance for their other Youth teams via the NGIS.

Safeguarding For Committee Members

For all clubs with youth teams a new mandatory course for the secretary, chairperson and welfare officer has come into effect. This is called the Safeguarding for Committee Members and can be completed for free. Three different people from a club must have taken this course before your affiliation gets approval for the 2017/18 season.
