Having successfully defended the Invitation Trophy, Milnthorpe Corinthians FC respresented the County in the Associaition of Northern Counties Senior Cup first round at Liverpool County FA who were represented by South Liverpool FC.

In dreadful heavy rain the game started with Corinthians on top and were unlucky not to be two up in the first 15 minutes with Brandon Croskell-Robinson hiting the bar from close range and then seeing his shot cleared off the line.

Corinthians continued to dominate the game and took the lead on 24 minutes when their leading scorer Zach Clark beat two defenders on the edge of the penalty area and shot home.

They could have increased their lead a couple of minutes later but Scott Singletion shot just wide.

They increased their lead on 33 minutes when Singleton shot home from close range following good work by Croskell-Robinson on the right.

At the other end Mason Nevitt hit the post with a shot on 39 minutes.

As the rain continued the home side started the second half brightly but were unable to get back into the game as Corinthians defended well and they were unable to put any pressure on the visitors subsitute goal keeper Jamie Woodruff who had early replaced the injured Tom Bush.

The home side got a goal back on 83 minutes when Daniel Ventre shot home.

Late on, Elliot Burnett was sent off for the home side for a very late and reckless challenege on Clark.

Corinthians saw out the last few minutes for a well deserved victory and a Semi Final tie at home to Lancashire FA or East Riding County FA.
