On Saturday 23^rd March, Wattsfield Youth Girls travelled to Manchester to represent Westmorland CFA in the North West Regional Finals for the U14 Girls Futsal competition.

Wattsfield won the local County FA qualifying event in November and were drawn against some strong opposition, some of which specifically play Futsal.

Wattsfield opened their day by playing Futsal club De La Salle and were beaten 3-0 in a tough opener. Wattsfield then played in a thrilling second game where they were edged out 4-3 against Neston FC. Wattsfield’s third fixture was against Northbank FC and the score was tied at 1-1 until late where Northbank manged to secure the win. Wattsfield started very well again in their last fixture v Lytham, however the opposition scored some late goals to pull away to victory.

Wattsfield coach Chris Miller said the girls had an enjoyable day and it was a great learning curve to play against some strong teams who specialised in Futsal.
