Safeguarding in Open Age Football

WESTMORLAND CFA ARE HERE TO GUIDE CLUBS THROUGH THE RECENT CHANGES TO SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES IN OPEN AGE ADULT FOOTBALL.

In January 2020, clubs and leagues will have received communication from The FA regarding changes to safeguarding responsibilities for adult disability teams and open-age adult teams with players aged 16-17. You can read more about these changes in the documents below.

Westmorland CFA recommend that every player aged 16-17 is given a copy of “Know Your Rights In Football” which can be downloaded below. This document ensures young players understand their rights in feeling safe, comfortable and not discriminated against, both on and off the field. It can also direct them to the appropriate help if they would like to report a concern.

Westmorland CFA are committed to supporting clubs and leagues throughout this process to ensure we keep the game safe and enjoyable for all. If you have any questions or would like to speak to a member of staff please contact us on 01539 730946 or email Safeguarding@WestmorlandFA.com
