We have received the sad news that former Westmorland FA Council Member, Tommy Huck passed away this week.

We have received the sad news that former Westmorland FA Council Member, Tommy Huck passed away this week. He was a stalwart to football in the county and particularly at his club Appleby FC for the whole of his life.

He joined the Westmorland County FA Council in 1964 and retired in 2018 when his outstanding contribution was honoured by making him a Life Vice President. He served the Association in many capacities including Vice Chairman, President, and Director.

Tommy also made a significant contribution to the work of the Westmorland Football League where he was an Executive Committee Member and Chairman for many years. 

He also devoted the whole of his life to his own club Appleby FC where he served on the Committee and was Chairman for many-many years.

His outstanding service to the game was recognised by The FA in 1999 when he received their 50 Year Service Award.

Throughout his life he was a devoted family man, and wife Edna and children never far from his football world

Tommy’s funeral will be held on Friday 16 February at 11:30am at St Lawrence’s Church, Appleby followed by refreshments at the Bowling Club.
