Disability

There has never been a better time to get involved and play disability football.Opportunities for players with a disability to access football at various levels has grown rapidly over the past few years

Westmorland FA are committed to enabling all players to play our national sport and providing opportunities for people who want to become involved in the many different areas of football. We strive to ensure all those involved reach their potential as a player, coach, referee, administrator or volunteer.

Locally there is currently provision for adults with Riversiders FC and for youth players with the STEPs Club and Buzz Club. Further opportunities are currently being developed along with regular coaching delivered in local special schools and learning support units.

The Riversiders Adult Football Club train every Wednesday 5pm - 5:30pm at Kendal Leisure Centre and welcome any new players, every month they visit Lancashire FA to play in the Ability Counts League and also visit Cumberland FA to play in the Carlisle United Ability Counts League.

We are committed to enabling everybody to play our national game and reach their potential as a player, coach, referee or administrator.  This cannot be achieved without the continual support of our partners who are key to delivery at a local and county level.

Through these working relationships, we can ensure good quality development of the disability football pathway and best use of financial resources to continue the growth in football for disabled people.
