Hello, I’m sure many of you will have seen me around on the internet, programmes and my own social media channel, I am the proud mascot of Westmorland County FA.

My main role is to be the face of safeguarding and inclusion for young players across Westmorland. My latest campaign is to help adults and show them areas in which we can keep young people safe when playing and help improve football and the image of the game. 

So here’s my challenge to the adults…

We have several areas of the game we can improve and make better for our young people, below are free courses and ways you can help improve the local game. I’ve also donated a nice cup of tea for you to enjoy when doing your online course. 

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility – but are you clear about the vital role you can play? This short course will provide the answers. It starts by explaining the importance of safeguarding in football and the child-centred approach the game takes.

This is a short online module that takes you through the laws of the game and is requirement for anyone that does want to become a referee. However, this free course improves your knowledge of the laws of the game and gives any parent volunteer, coach or player a better understanding of what referees do.

Coaching 

FA Playmaker – EE Playmaker by England Football is our free online entry-level football course perfect for anyone interested in taking a more active role in grassroots football. There are five modules in total and you don’t need any previous football experience or qualifications before signing up. In fact, all you need is an FA Number (FAN) and a laptop, tablet or mobile device. Then you’re good to go.
