John was presented his award by George Cain, ex Football League Referee, Football League Assessor and an FA Mentor who gave an entertaining presentation on various aspects of refereeing.

The award was open to referee tutors, mentors, coaches and assessors with County winners being selected by a panel from The FA.

John was seen as an individual who over a long and sustained period of time has shown total dedication and commitment to supporting, educating and developing referees. He is an extremely active volunteer – Training Officer, Referees’ Committee member, County RA Secretary and Assessor, stands out as a quality volunteer, someone who is totally dedicated to making a difference in refereeing.
