ASSOCIATION OF NORTHERN COUNTIES YOUTH COMPETITION
WESTMORLAND COUNTY FA V LIVERPOOL FA
at Kendal Town FC, Parkside Road, Kendal
The Westmorland County Under 18’s took on Liverpool FA at Kendal Town FC in their third game in the competition.
The home side started strongly and could have been three up in the first 30 minutes but for the visiting keeper M Jackson who saved attempts from J Brench on two occasions as well as a free kick from J Casson.
The home side took the lead on 35 minutes when Brench shot under the advancing keeper. Chances were very limited at the other end and Brench, Casson and J Matthews all had chances to increase the home sides lead but were denied by the visiting keeper.

The visiting side came out much more determined in the second half and the home substitute keeper D Seaton was called into action on several occasions. As the home side were pushed further and further back the equaliser came with just two minutes remaining when a long range shot screamed into the top corner of the net.
The management team, George Gudgeon and Tosh Farrell were delighted with the team’s performance and are looking forward to the final league game against Cumberland County FA in two weeks’ time.
