Under 13 Girls Cup Final

Lancaster Giants v Kendal United

Wattsfield YFC, Netherfield Pitch, Kendal

In a highly entertaining final, Kendal United lifted the U13 Girls Cup after a hard fought battle against Lancaster Giants.

Kendal opened the scoring 10 minutes into the game when player of the match C Samson nicked the ball from the defender and shot powerfully into the net. Lancaster nearly got an equaliser just two minutes later as a goalmouth scramble led to a smart save. Kendal doubled their advantage on 20 minutes when Samson intercepted a pass in her own half and showed tremendous pace to drive past the Lancaster defence and she finished confidently into the corner. Despite some dangerous Lancaster attacks Kendal added another before half time when H Tchbinda scored a brilliant individual effort.

8 minutes into the second half and Samson had her hat trick when she finished superbly again from inside the box. Despite this, Lancaster mounted a brilliant fight back and scored two goals in quick succession and were mounting lots of dangerous attacks.  As things began to become a little nervy for Kendal they finished the game off when the dangerous Tchbinda showed great speed to power past the defence and score her second goal of the game and clinch the Under 13 Girls Cup for Kendal United.
