The Westmorland Senior County Cup sponsored by Kirkby Lonsdale Bathrooms kicks off this weekend, with some fantastic ties in prospect.

This weekend sees the only all Westmorland League tie with Burneside at home to Kirkoswald a team a division above them. Burneside may benefit from having been able to play their Benevolent Trophy game against Keswick last weekend, albeit this fixture ended in a defeat for them, it will have given their squad some much needed competitive action.

West Lancashire League Division 2 side Kendal United face an away trip to Westmorland League Division 1 Penrith AFC Reserves whilst Windermere of the Westmorland league host Milnthorpe Corinthians of the West Lancashire League. The form book goes out of the window to some extent in this tie as Windermere have found competitive action hard to come by in recent months due to the weather. In fact, their last competitive outing was in the last round of the Senior Cup back in November when they came out 3-2 winners against Shap. 

Next weekend, current holders Appleby of the Westmorland League face the challenging prospect of a visit to Kendal Town at Parkside Road. 

The following day (Sunday 22nd January) our youth cup competitions return with quarter final fixtures in the SM Jones Trophy sponsored by Bowes Dairy Produce, the Dallam Tower Trophy sponsored by Webbs Kitchens and Westmorland U18 County Cup. There are some exciting games in prospect in all three of these competitions with one of the standout ties being the top two in the Under 18 league facing one another as Wattsfield Youth U18 visit Penrith AFC U18.
