Big Football Day launching for clubs and providers
On Saturday 22nd July 2023, #LetGirlsPlay Big Football Day will be landing, and this is your official invite to be a part of it.
Celebrate England kicking off their Women’s World Cup campaign by getting involved with your local Big Football Day event. From football taster sessions and coaching workshops, to watch parties to see the action unfold, plus so much more.
There is something for everyone – fan, player, coach or want to get involved in football for the first time in some way, shape or for? We’ve got you covered!
Take part in a taster session
There are six different participation taster session themes to choose from. Whether you’re wanting to give it a go for the first time or play regularly, there is something for everyone.
Women’s World Cup watch parties
Watch England kick-off their first Women’s World Cup match at 10.30am (BST) and soak up the atmosphere at your local Big Football Day event.
Get involved in the festival vibes
It’s not all just about the football you’ll want get involved in. From food and drink to keep you energised, bringing the party feels with some music to face painting and games (not just for the kids!).
We are running a Stepping over the Sidelines workshop at Dallam School on Wednesday 19th July from 6-8pm.

On the 2nd of July our female coaches group in partnership with Cumberland CFA will be launching. The group will run free coach development events which will be a mixture of online and face to face delivery. The aim of the group will be to provide female coaches with the opportunity to link with other female coaches in the area and learn and develop in a supportive environment. The group sessions will be shaped around feedback from the members.
The launch event will be on Sunday 2nd July (10am – 1pm) at Newton Rigg, Penrith.
