On Friday night, Westmorland County Football Association hosted their County Cup Final Referee Appointment Seminar. We were delighted to be joined by FIFA assistant referee Lucy McCann. 

The evening started with two sessions outside, working with Lucy on assistant refereeing positioning, decision making and flag technique. The second session was about working to create an angle and giving free kick / penalty decisions as the referee. 

Following 50 minutes of hard work and running, the referees were invited inside for a presentation on preparation and match control. This was an interactive session where the group watched clips from local football and discussed key points regarding decision making and player management. 

It was then time to reveal the 2022/23 referee appointments for the season.
