Football for Everyone

Opportunities for players with a disability to access football at various levels has grown rapidly over the past few years

Westmorland County FA are committed to enabling all players to play our national sport and providing opportunities for people who want to become involved in the many different areas of football.

We are committed to enabling everybody to play our national game and reach their potential as a player, coach, referee or administrator.  This cannot be achieved without the continual support of our partners who are key to delivery at a local and county level. Through these working relationships, we can ensure good quality development of the disability football pathway and best use of financial resources to continue the growth in football for disabled people.

Locally there is currently provision for adults with Riversiders FC and for youth players with the Buzz Club. Further opportunities are currently being developed.

The Riversiders Adult Football Club train every Wednesday 5pm - 5:45pm at Kendal Leisure Centre and welcome any new players, every month they visit Cumberland FA to play in the Carlisle United Ability Counts League.

Walter the wolf

Walter is the new mascot of the Westmorland county fA!

Walter the Wolf is loyal and sociable and always looks after his teammates. He is very fit and active and is inclusive of all of his team. He always wears his rainbow laces and just loves football just like all of our youth players in the County!

Walter the Wolf was designed by Isabella Chelton
