Womens and Girls Charity Football Festival

On Saturday 12 July Westmorland County FA hosted the Women’s and Girls Charity Football Festival.

The festival was a great success with 5 ladies teams and 6 girls teams participating. The matches made for some hot work, but the water and fruit kindly donated by Morrisons Supermarket ensured that the players could keep up with the pace.

The matches were refereed by the Football Futures volunteers: Paul Rowlinson, Colin Gerrard, James Tremeer and Katie Ireland and they all did a great job!!

Kirkby Stephen Hockey Ladies team won the women’s competition and Lancaster Giants won the U12’s category on a tense penalty shootout final against Ibis. The U10’s enjoyed a friendly round robin with the flexibility for the coaches and managers to decide on a suitable and preferred format.

Westmorland County FA would like to thank all the teams for attending the festival, and it has been great to hear positive feedback from many clubs.
