Wattsfield Youth SSE Wildcats Sessions Start Strong

Wattsfield Youth have stated running Wildcat Football sessions weekly on Monday evenings 6.00-7.00pm at Howards Street in. Teaming up with the SSE wildcats initiative and Westmorland FA they aim to increase the provision for girls football in the local area.

The Sessions have been running for two weeks with already good numbers of girls attending. Sessions at Howard Street include:

• A friendly environment

• FA qualified coaches

• Fun activities

• Football-led sessions

• Chance to meet new friends

• A pathway into football

Wattsfield Youth SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre provides girls aged 7-10 with regular opportunities to play football. The initiative offers organised sessions in a fun and engaging environment created exclusively for girls.

More than 200 clubs were piloted across England in 2017 and the scheme is now being extended to more than 900 centres with 26,000 participants across the country.

The Wattsfield Youth SSE Wildcats Girls’ Football sessions  take place weekly and will provide a safe environment where girls can try football for the first time. The initiative aims to inspire participants to engage with football, meet new friends, develop fundamental skills, learn new things and create the foundation for a lifelong love of football.

Each SSE Wildcats club will be run in conjunction with local County FAs and utilising qualified coaches and local facilities to offer girls a location nearby where they can get involved.

SSE Wildcats has been established in partnership with SSE, supporters of girls’ football participation and sponsor of the SSE Women’s FA Cup, with support from UEFA, FIFA and The Youth Sport Trust.
