Under 25 League Week 2 Fixtures
In the second week of the Westmorland County FA 2018 Under 25 season, Lunesdale United started their campaign with a trip against Week 1 winners Kendal United.
It was Kendal United who made a lightning quick start to the game and found themselves 2-0 up in the opening minutes. First of all James Bennett arrived at the back post to finish well after a diagonal cross. Moments later Lewis Casey produced a brilliant dipping header to increase the lead. Kendal United increased their lead before half time when Joe Carradus found himself unmarked in the box to score.
The second half was much of the same and despite an improved Lunesdale performance Kendal United scored two more goals through Aidan Dent and a Bailey Carlos penalty.
The second kick off saw another very quick start this time with Milnthorpe Corinthians shooting into a two goal lead, much like they did in week 1. Goals from Will Booth and Josh Casson gave Corinthians a handy lead. Endmoor looked dangerous on the break and had a few half chances but Connor Crawshaw-Collins found Joe Fiddler in the Corinthians goal in good form. Josh Casson extended the lead before half time.
In the second half and Endmoor were much more competitive and saw a lot more of the ball. Fiddler produced some unbelievable saves to preserve Corinthians clean sheet. Late goals from Dan Nowell and Tom Jackson sealed a resounding victory.
Corinthian’s finish week 2 on 3 points along with Ibis. Endmoor and Lunesdale meet next week looking to earn their first points whilst Kendal United have 2 wins from 2.
